CHALLENGE: How to transform an old building, which is originally, an outdated hotel located in an industrial area into an attractive one responding to the international hospitality standards.

IT HAS TO BE:

• NOT LIKE ANY OTHER HOTEL,
• QUIRKY WITH A CACHET.

Many brainstorming sessions were planned to find the IDEA, THE STORY, THE NEW CHAPTER in the lifecycle of the project.
The crisscrossed ideas in relation with the name of the project the 9*, one of them 90s has led to The 70s and 80s: full of history and close to the heart of the client.

*In reference to the name of the highway where the hotel is located.

THUS, THE PROJECT IS GOING TO STORY TELL THE 70S AND 80S OF TUNIS.

Everything, then, has been created and imagined around the 70s and 80s: Artworks, materials, texture, food, music, etc.
You will travel back in time within the new contemporary building of the 9.
You will discover through the different spaces [lobby, lounge, Restaurant, Patio, SPA, Gym, Rooms, etc.]:

Marriott Hotel, Djerba

Unique, meeting Marriott requirements, taking advantage of the magnificent site and the sea view were the main guidelines for the design of Marriott al Djerba resort. All of it was inspired by the local heritage and remodeled to fit into the 21st century.

Modern spaces with clean lines and details that elevate were created.

Seamless indoor-outdoor connection was adopted letting the landscape to seep into the indoor spaces and to punctuate the neutral color palette we have utilized. We made sure that every single detail is aligned with the island vibes and the resort aspect of the hotel. From the concept to the smallest detail, everything was comprehensively elaborated. Being at the same time the architect and the interior designer of most of the areas of the hotel have helped us achieve it. [see the detail of our scope in the above listed program]. To make it as good by day as by night we have played with landscape and light on which we have collaborated very closely with the required consultants and many others to make the experience of staying at the resort unique in every level.

Marriott Djerba is one of the first all-inclusive under the brand Marriott in Mena area.
